Mark Lefebvre Joins Draft2Digital

D2D’s new Director of Business Development brings strong experience to the table

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, October 03, 2018— Today Draft2Digital announces the addition of industry veteran Mark Leslie Lefebvre, formerly of Rakuten Kobo, as the company’s Director of Business Development. The hiring of Lefebvre is a bid by D2D to improve and expand upon its position as the industry’s leading distributor of independently published books.

Lefebvre has long been a part of bookselling and the book industry, throughout its evolution from brick and mortar operations and into online and digital venues. He has been at the forefront of online bookselling, bringing print on demand into physical retail spaces and helping to usher in the eBook and indie-publishing boom.

Lefebvre is a former President of the Canadian Booksellers Association, Board Member of BookNet Canada, and member of the Professional Advisory Council for Sheridan College School of Creative Writing and Publishing. He was also the founding Director of Kobo Writing Life and is an active member of the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers.

"My entire professional life, the greatest work I have ever done has happened in those moments of connection between authors and readers,” Lefebvre says. “Any activity that enables such experiences is magic, and that goes for tools and companies that help remove barriers and enable writers to reach readers. I have great admiration and respect for companies that put authors first, and Draft2Digital embodies that spirit wholeheartedly. It’s a central part of their DNA, through the incredible free services they provide authors, and in the amazing people who lead and make up their company. I am both honored and thrilled to be a part of such a world-class and author-centric team."

With the addition of such a vital and active member of the indie author community Draft2Digital hopes to further increase its longstanding goodwill with both existing and incoming authors. Mark Leslie Lefebvre is a welcome member of the D2D team, and the company believes his role as Director of Business Development will be of great benefit to D2D’s indie authors and publishers.

“Mark has long been an asset to the indie publishing community,” says Draft2Digital CEO Kris Austin. “His sincere love for authors is unmatched in the industry, and his extensive knowledge and experience make him a perfect fit for Draft2Digital. We look forward to working with him to help improve the lives and careers of our authors.”
