Kobo Plus is a subscription service from Rakuten Kobo. While the retail branch of Kobo has a huge international footprint, reaching into 190 countries, Kobo Plus taps into reader excitement around subscription services and is currently offered in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States. As a D2D author, you’ll be able to see your sales and royalties from your author dashboard, alongside all of your other sales channels.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF KOBO PLUS?

No exclusivity—Reach readers who prefer subscription models without the penalty of having your books tied to a single retailer. In other words, while enrolled in Kobo Plus, you can also distribute your books to any other online bookseller that you wish. There’s no exclusivity requirement to be in the program.

Reach unique and dynamic markets—The Dutch-speaking markets of the Netherlands and Belgium are huge reader markets. Canada is Kobo’s home turf, with both English and French-speaking readers. Kobo Plus and Draft2Digital are bringing you the easiest way to opt in and reach these new markets.

HOW DO I GET PAID?

The Kobo Plus Payout Model is based on the number of readers subscribing to and reading books through the service in a given month. The more subscribers the service has, the more revenue there is to share. Your earnings from Kobo Plus are based on the amount of time that subscribers spend reading your titles in a month.

HOW DO I SEE MY KOBO PLUS SALES REPORTS?

Kobo Plus reports sales to Draft2Digital approximately three weeks after the close of each month, which means you’ll be able to view Kobo Plus sales in your D2D sales report around the 22nd of each month. To view this data, once you’re logged into your D2D account, follow these steps:
